XHS90 HIGH SPEED Motor

The XHS90 HIGH SPEED Motor is a high-speed hub motor designed by Rage Mechanics for high-power electric scooters, primarily the Weped SST, SSGT, and FS. 90 mm magnets, 10 mm² phase cables, 6,000 W nominal: this is the range we install on our own racing machines and on those of our customers who want a motor that can handle a high-power controller without overheating or lagging.

Which rider is this for?

You are looking for top speed: track, long straight lines, light to medium rider. If your usage is more urban with lots of acceleration and hills, check out the HIGH TORQUE version in the same size.

Your scooter is not on the list? Our motors adapt to most machines on the market: axle spacing and axle length are adjusted with custom-machined axles and spacers (stainless steel axle kit, spacers), and we regularly adapt these motors to models not listed here. Send us a photo of the swingarm and original motor with the measured swingarm opening: we will confirm feasibility before shipping.

What you need to prepare around the motor

• The controller: this motor is only useful with a controller capable of feeding it. A VESC controller (3Shul and compatible) controlled by our SmartDisplay allows you to adjust current and curves to make the most of it; a stock controller will work, but will limit the power.
• Wiring: 10 mm² phases require heavy-duty connectors (8 mm bullets) and a clean wiring harness — see our braided sleeves and connectors.
• Rim and tire: choose the "with CNC rim" option if you don't have an original Weped rim to reuse.
• Cooling: for intensive or competition use, our motor cooling kit mounts to the cable-side flange and significantly improves cooling.

Options

Without rim: you reuse your original Weped rim. With CNC rim: motor delivered pre-mounted on our black anodized tubeless CNC aluminum rim, which splits in two to change the tire in minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between XHS and XHT?

Same casing, same magnets, two windings: XHS (HIGH SPEED) prioritizes RPM and top speed, XHT (HIGH TORQUE) prioritizes torque. With an identical controller, an XHT launches harder and runs cooler on hills, while an XHS has a higher top speed.

And between 75, 80, 90, and 100 mm?

This refers to the width of the magnets: the larger it gets, the more torque the motor produces and the more current it can handle without overheating. 75 is the standard, 80 is a step up for heavy riders, and 90 and 100 are reserved for very high-power setups (very high-power controllers).

Do I need to modify my Weped?

No for the SST, SSGT, and FS: the motor mounts directly in place of the original. For another scooter, it is almost always possible with adapted axles: contact us with your swingarm opening measurements.
