70 mm high-speed hub motor with 6.5" split rims for Dualtron Thunder / Ultra, Bronco, Nami Burn-E: 6000 W nominal, 10 mm² phases, Hall sensors.

The MHS70 HIGH SPEED Motor is a high-speed hub motor supplied with its tubed split rims, designed to replace the original motors of large dual-motor electric scooters: Dualtron Thunder and Ultra, Bronco Xtreme, Nami Burn-E. 70 mm magnets, 10 mm² phase cables, 6000 W nominal: a motor built to be pushed to the limit by a high-performance controller.

Which rider is this for?

If you are looking for top speed: track use, long straights, light to medium-weight rider. If your usage is more urban with frequent acceleration and hills, check out the HIGH TORQUE version of the same size.

Technical specifications

  • Type: high-speed brushless hub motor (short winding: more RPM at the same voltage, resulting in higher top speed at the cost of some starting torque)
  • Magnets: 70 mm
  • No-load speed at 60 V: 2604 RPM
  • No-load speed at 72 V: 3604 RPM
  • Phase cables: 10 mm²
  • Nominal power: 6000 W
  • Hall sensors: yes, compatible with VESC / 3Shul / original controllers
  • Split rims: 6.5" tubed split rims, included
  • Tires: 11", 12" or 13"
  • Weight: approx. 8 kg

Compatibility

Supplied with 6.5" tubed split rims that open in two: tire changes are done without tire levers or struggle.

Fits on: Dualtron Thunder, Dualtron Ultra, Bronco Xtreme / Vnom, Nami Burn-E and models with compatible swingarms.

Is your scooter not on the list? Our motors adapt to most machines on the market: the spacing and axle length can be adjusted with custom-machined axles and spacers (stainless steel axle kit, spacers), and we regularly adapt these motors to models not listed here. Send us a photo of the swingarm and the original motor with the measured swingarm opening: we will confirm feasibility before shipping.

What to plan for around the motor

  • The controller: this motor is only worth it with a controller capable of feeding it. A VESC controller (3Shul and compatible) controlled by our SmartDisplay allows you to adjust current and curves to exploit it; an original controller will work but will limit the power.
  • Wiring: 10 mm² phases require high-quality connectors (8 mm bullets) and a clean harness — see our braided sleeves and connectors.
  • Rim and tire: the split rims are provided; plan for a tire and inner tube in the chosen size (11", 12" or 13").
  • Ventilation: for intensive use or competition, our motor ventilation kit mounts on the cable-side flange and significantly improves cooling.

Options

Standard paint (black) or custom paint: specify the desired color in the order message, the motor is painted in the workshop before shipping (additional lead time of a few days).

Manufacturing and warranty

Each motor is checked in our workshop in Lyon before shipping. We ride with these motors in competition, and the feedback from our riders is used directly to evolve the range. Fast shipping in France and Europe, technical support via email for controller selection and tuning.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between MHS and MHT?

Same motor, two windings: MHS (HIGH SPEED) for top speed, MHT (HIGH TORQUE) for torque and acceleration. On a Thunder or a Nami for road use, the torque version is often the most pleasant; on the track, the speed version.

Which tires do the split rims accept?

11", 12" or 13" tubed tires. The split rims separate into two, which makes changing tires much easier than with a monoblock rim.

Can I install it myself?

If you have already replaced a scooter motor, yes: it is a direct replacement for the original. Otherwise, our workshop offers installation (installation package available in the shop).
