Teverun Fighter: Eliminate steering instability and enhance the reliability of a powerful machine

The Teverun Fighter scooters are among the most powerful on the market. The Fighter 7260R, the most powerful model in the range, boasts 72V, two 4000W motors, 13-inch wheels, and a top speed of 110 km/h. With such power, one critical component of the scooter works incredibly hard: the steering column. This guide focuses on that component, along with the controls that ensure a reliable Fighter.

The essentials

  • The original steering column, common to the entire Fighter range, exhibits play when bending, becomes loose, and flexes during sharp turns.
  • A column that moves at high speed is a real hazard, not just a minor inconvenience.
  • Our grade 9 titanium columns are mounted on the original folding mechanism without the need for any drilling.
  • Our Éditions Titane delivers the new machine, already equipped and tested, directly to the workshop.

The weak point: the steering column

The steering column endures a lot: hard braking, impacts, and stress on the handlebars during turns. On the Fighter models, the original steering column, which is common to the entire range, exhibits three defects in machines that have been heavily used:

  • of wear and tear at the folding mechanism level, which becomes more pronounced with mileage;
  • a loosening that requires regular tightening;
  • Flexion during fast turns, which makes the steering feel imprecise.

The typical symptoms include: a slight clicking sound during braking, a feeling that the handlebars are "loose" relative to the deck, and a sensation of instability at high speeds.

The solution: a titanium column

Our steering columns replace the original one with a Grade 9 titanium tube, featuring a machined aluminum 7075 ring and stem adapter. They mount to the original folding mechanism without any drilling or modifications, and are compatible with standard mountain bike handlebars and stems.

These are available for the Fighter Mini, the 7260R (all versions from V1 to V6), the Fighter 11 and 11+, the Supreme Plus and the Supreme Ultra, as well as for other machines that share this folding system, such as the Dualtron Thunder 3. See our parts for Teverun.

Editions Titane: The new machine, already fully equipped

For those purchasing a new Fighter, our Titanium Editions deliver the scooter with its manufacturer's warranty and original accessories, but with a titanium stem, a short 31.8mm handlebar clamp, and a carbon fiber handlebar already installed, torqued, and inspected in our workshop in Lyon. It leaves in its original packaging, ready to ride, with a single point of contact for warranty issues.

The controls that ensure a reliable Fighter experience

  1. Steering: When stopped, with the front brake applied, push and pull the handlebars. There should be no clicking or movement.
  2. Brakes: Pads, rotors, and fluid level for a hydraulic system. A machine of this weight and speed will quickly wear out its brake pads. See our guide on braking for a powerful electric scooter.
  3. Tires: Pressure and wear, especially on the rear tires.
  4. **Tightenings:** Wheel axles, arms, handlebar stem, after the first few kilometers, and then regularly.
  5. Connectors: A phase or battery connector that overheats can be identified by feeling it after a ride. Refer to our guide on power cables and connectors.

Workshop tip

A steering linkage doesn't permanently "correct" itself simply by tightening it; it will eventually return to its original position, and each time it does, it puts a little more stress on the bending components. It's better to address the underlying cause at the first signs of the problem.

And what happens in the event of a power failure?

Stuttering, motor jerking, error codes: our diagnostic guides also apply to the Fighter. Start with scooters that cut out while accelerating and motors that stutter or jerk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the scooter still bend with the titanium strut?

It's not about a quick bend; rather, it's the mechanism itself that was becoming loose. To transport it, you loosen the five screws on the ring, remove the tube, and place the column on the deck. With a Titanium Edition, the original column can be provided to you upon request, indicated in the order comments.

Do you need a handlebar stem and handlebars?

Yes: The handlebar stem is designed to accommodate a standard mountain bike stem and handlebars. Our Titanium Editions come with a short 31.8mm stem and carbon handlebars, already installed.

Does the Titanium Edition still come with the manufacturer's warranty?

Yes: The machine is new, comes with its manufacturer's warranty and all its original accessories. The specific conditions are listed on each product page.
